Some find gulp a little more intuitive, I think they both are quite easy to 
start (you can find almost all needed tasks in the web and should be up and 
running in a few hous).

If you have a large project you should dive into the "performance" articles 
on both after a few basic tasks like haml, coffe and jade. I would decide 
on which suites your project and kind of thinking most there. You get this 
simple stuff like haml, jade or coffe for both, and they all do a good job.
