You can use a ngRepeat for this, something line this:
<ul class="nav nav-pills">
<li ng-repeat='filter in typeFilterButtons'
ng-class="{active:ctrl.isFilterType(filter.type)}">
<a href ng-click="ctrl.setFilterType()">{{filter.name}}</a>
</li>
</ul>
