I am trying to understand whether Bluedroid (in Android 6.0.1) can support a single-mode, BLE-only device.
In reviewing this mail-list, I saw one related article (dated circa 2015) that it wasn't directly supported and extensive work was required to disable the BR/EDR side of Bluedroid. Has this situation changed? Is there some way to configure Bluedroid such that it operated only with a single-mode, BLE radio device? The HCI traces I have taken so far show that Bluedroid send quit a few classical HCI commands at Bluetooth activation time. The BLE device responds with INVALID_CMD status, which causes Bluedroid classical profile services to timeout and cause Bluedoid to restart itself. This cycle repeats until the android is reset: I was unable to stop the attempts to re-initialize the bluetooth stack. As as side note, I have tested latest stable Bluez with this same BLE device and it works without issues there (tested on RaspPi). Any direction or experience related to this topic would be appreciated. -- -- unsubscribe: [email protected] website: http://groups.google.com/group/android-porting --- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "android-porting" group.
