Thanks, guys.  The comment about the flickering helped us track it
down.

It was a subset of our web pages that specified particular zoom
characteristics - which WAS visible on the emulator in some cases -
only in high resolution.

Not a 2.1 or device-specific problem at all.  Just seemed that way.
