>From what I've read, users will be able to download a special app that will let them judge the applications submitted to the Android Development Contest.
It has also been said that, once submitted, you won't be able to update your applications. And as you've probably read, you can submit your app to the market after august 1st and still be able to send it to the contest. So... - What happens if someone has downloaded (and kept) my app before the contest? - Will there be a conflict between the market-downloaded version and the voting-downloaded one? - Will the voting app prevent them from voting on my app? - Will it offer my app for download again? - Will it ask them to uninstall the market-downloaded version first? - Will it let them vote without installing it again? - Will it let them vote even if they use a newer version, updated on the market? I've been planning on submitting a separate version with a different package name, just to avoid potential problems, but even in that case, I would like to reduce any annoyances to my existing users, such as having to configure twice or getting double notifications. After all, they are the ones that think my app is good enough to keep on their memory-limited devices and are likely to give me good ratings. Have the people dealing with the technical side of the ADC2 considered these scenarios? --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
