I tried your app, Wine By the Bar, on my Google Ion which is essentially the same as the HTC Magic. I had no issues at all. Barcode scanning worked as did the "label" capture. That being said... I also just tried the code you posted above on my Ion and also did not experience any issues. Not extremely helpful, I suppose, but it might help others who may know more about this than me.
