Does your activity have a title bar? Is the status bar visible when your activity is on screen? If so, the problem comes from the fact that you manually set the RelativeLayout's size to 480 px. With a title bar and a status bar, this will end up being outside of the screen.
By the way, you should NOT do what you are doing here. Using fixed size and positions will not work with future Android devices.
