As a quick update, I checked the changelog for 1.5 and couldn't find any mention of this, but this clearly changed. People are writing me know how the date handling in my app stopped working after they upgraded to 1.5. This seems like a bug to me, unless there is another place in the Android docs with a changelog that I haven't seen.
