There is no best way, but there is always better way. It's like the DES algorithm, there is way to crack it, but it is expensive. For a $2 app, few people wants to crack it with expensive effort.
Currently the apps on the market is not protected at all. Just a little bit more effort from Google can make it really "hard" to be cracked.
