Thanks for the response. I haven't actually used ListView so may be that is enough for my needs. What I like about Contacts widget is the small position indicator (with the first letter of the words currently getting scrolled) on the right scroll bar. I also like the fact that you can scroll up and down with acceleration by swiping on the screen (but may be that is a standard feature of ListView).
