This position is responsible for designing reusable technical assets and standards to support solution development, as well as consulting with project owners on how to best leverage these assets and standards. This position designs, develops, deploys, and operates automation technologies that orchestrate deployments utilizing Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) toolsets. The automation engineer shall provide support to consolidate, build, test, and release workflows in production and non production environments.* Broad knowledge of the IT CI/CD landscape including automation technologies and trends is required.* * ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:* Responsible for leading development, orchestration and support initiatives associated with the *Broadcom Automic – Continuois Delivery Automation (CDA) solution* Work with vendor to establish and maintain application lifecycle roadmap including establishing Proof Of Concept validation with new technologies. Communicate to leadership and CDA customer base Create and maintain integration interfaces to other Charter tools such as ServiceNow, Jira, Selenium, Jenkins, Artifactory, etc. *Experience with workflow build script orchestration used for deployments across all environments. Develop, provision and test workflows/scripts (CDA, Shell, Python, etc.) to automate manual deployments* *Automate deployment of platforms into highly scalable, consistent, repeatable infrastructure using high degree of automation tools like Chef, Puppet, Ansible and Docker* *Work with Oracle and MS SQL, server DBA tasks (DML, DDL Executions, Log rotations, Table space alterations, user management etc.)* Strong grasp of *monitoring tools such as Splunk, SolarWinds or AppDynamics including the ability to automate repeatable tasks via scripting.* Provide input to procedures for monitoring, receiving alerts, evaluating diagnoses and establishing a work plan to resolve system issues Support the objectives of Release Management by contributing and influencing peers to help support CDA to achieve elevation. Identify new CDA opportunities and establish use cases Ability to consult with IT customers to understand their deployment requirements to establish a workflow design. On-board new application teams into CDA as required. Provide ongoing best practices and application support knowledge transfer to co-workers. Maintain library of Standard Operating Procedures for consistent and effective operation Mentor and train less experienced staff including application and support teams on the CDA development and scripting process including deployments Drive business and IT alignment to leverage reusable architecture capabilities Collaborate with IT management to define and develop technology strategy, technology standards, roadmaps, and practices Serve as a technical expert addressing problems relating to systems integration, compatibility, and multiple platform integration Interact and consult with appropriate business analysts, project managers and developers to understand application/project requirements and define architectural solutions to meet those requirements Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a high-profile environment Work with the application solutions delivery teams in the development of services, components, standards, and frameworks required to support Charter’s business strategy (e.g. design patterns, reusable components) Establish ongoing best practices and application support knowledge transfer to co-workers. Training application teams on automated deployments and scripting process. On-boarding new application teams as required Ensure that projects follow the prescribed development life cycle and meets quality standards Identify risks associated with component or application implementation Assist with analyzing and recommending software acquisitions and alternative solutions, methodologies, strategies and tools Keep current with trends and technological innovations in the Cable and IT industry, and make appropriate development recommendations Establish and maintain CDA Software support and provide escalation to Broadcom and Charter leadership for issues and problem resolution Establish and maintain CDA roles, governance and maintain system access while maintaining and supporting CDA compliance with Payment Card Industry (PCI) requirements Establish and maintain CDA library of approved objects.
