Hi there! I'm not sure where to go with this.. If I'm at the wrong place please tell me right away.
I can't access the internal storage of my Nexus 7 when connected via USB to my Windows 8 PC anymore. In the device manager there are two links to the tablet: Android Device -> Android Composite ADB Interface (this works perfectly fine) and Portable Devices -> *my tablet name*. For the latter, the driver isn't working anymore. I tried three different Android mobile devices and all have the same problem. I tried uninstalling the driver manually and using the "Search automatically for updated driver software" option from the Device Manager, which leads to a failure stating "The wait operation timed out". I then tried uninstalling the driver, downloading the driver manually from https://developer.android.com/studio/run/win-usb.html and then the "Browse my computer for driver software" option from the Device Manager. Windows then tells me that it "could not find driver software for your device". I also tried uninstalling the Google USB Driver from the SDK Manager of Android Studio and installing it again that way. Still no success. Any help/experience with this problem? I suspect that a recent Windows Update might have caused this trouble, but I can't influence that since my company controls them.
