Don't know if this has been addressed here yet. Any Google searching I've done has only shown me discussion from things like this from years ago...
I am a developer. I have like 13 apps on Google Play. A few of them are widgets. They have been out in the wild and working fine for a few 1000 people for a long time. Marshmallow just came out, and installed itself on my phone. Every single widget now fails to update. And, it's not just mine (although that's my biggest concern). AccuWeather, and my AdSense widgets don't update any more either. My assumption is that because my manifest is pointing to an earlier release (as far back as 19), they simply won't work until I recompile them with the new 23 target. I expected that something like the AdSense app would have been updated by now, because they are having the same trouble. But it hasn't. So what's the issue here? Is it just that I'm going to need to recompile, or is Marshmallow just not allowing widgets to update anymore. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Android Developers" group.
