Ever since the latest Google Search app update (3.3.11.1069658.arm), the voice recognizer popup tends to listen for way longer then it is needed.
For example, once the user stopped speaking the red circle (with white mic icon) will remain there for a good 5seconds, and then it will eventually close the popup. Another example of this is the mic button on the URL text area on Chrome. Google Now seems unaffected. It used to be that the popup will close in 2seconds or less.
