Just checked it with an "MT608-2" from HP (like this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-single-port-USB-to-RS-232-serial-adapter-MT608-2-/230642394861). My galaxy nexus recognized it with two bulk endpoints. I think it could work via USB host...
