Hi please can you help.

To start with I'm new to app development so don't understand basically
anything.

A few months back I had a developer create an app for me, he then uploaded
it to his developer account and all was good. Untill two months later when
he removed it (Said his developer/ Google Play account had been removed)

Today I signed upto my own developer account as I own the rights to the app
and have the origional apk file. When I tried to upload the apk file I was
greeted by the following message

*The package name of your apk (com.notmyrealappsname.android) is the same
as the package name of another developer's application. Choose a new
package name.

*What can I do to sort this out I've tried contacting the developer but
with no luck and searched for something I can follow online but have come
up with nothing so far.
I'm assuming I will have to change the apk's package name, but how?*
