Yes, typical surface code.

        background = BitmapFactory.decodeResource(res, R.drawable.space);
...

canvas = holder.lockCanvas(null);

synchronized(holder) {

  canvas.drawBitmap(background, 0, 0, null);
                 ...
              }

This works on every devices we tested - from 240x320 HTC Tattoo to 1280x800 
Android TV and tablet. But only Nexus 7 not working (at least, I can't get 
it to work under emulator). I can't get Nexus 7 in Singapore to test.
