What you want is impossible, for obvious security reasons. Launcher2 is not your app. You did not write that app. You cannot "get a reference to the launcher activity object" in your own app's process, any more than you can "get a reference to the user's preferred banking activity object, so I can steal their PIN and transfer all their money to my account in the Caymans". :-)
