Hi, Why is it a surprise ? That is exactly what you are asking Android to do : Put the STRING : OrderLineContract.Columns.PRICE + " * " + OrderLineContract.Columns.QUANTITY in the column total. Your question shows a real gap between what you want to achieve and what you know about programming. Kind of like : I want to play in the NBA but what is this orange round-shaped thingy for ? OrderLineContract.Columns.PRICE does not contain the value of the field, it contains the name of the field Using aVariable1 + "*" + aVariable2 does not multiply, it concatenates the string.
