Hmm, I don't really think that is related. My question is simply why can I apply "list_selector_background" as the background drawable but not "list_selector_holo_dark" - both xml files are in res/drawable in the sdk for target 11 :/ Setting the background to android.R.drawable.list_selector_background has the intended behavior except for the old yellow color.
