Mark, yeah, I missed that part in the OT, but Windows Mobile uses it for it's exchange push mail. And Google probably also uses it for the GMail and Calendar. And most I always have my connection open on my phone (a HTC Wizard for the record), probably like most people with an unlimited data plan.
