If I could turn off the tiles, we'd get better performance bcos I'm
currently downloading Google tiles when I don't even use them.

Can someone from Android/Google answer if I would be violating any
agreements by not using a maps key?

The Google logo still shows which is fine by me... I only want the
projection matrix to map pixel/geo's.
