If you think this is due to some specific code changes you just made, you could of course have messed up. But I am sure you checked that.
I wonder what uninstalling does that a simple update doesn't accomplish. Of course, there's the removal of the database, preferences, and all that, but that alone doesn't explain the errors you and I have seen.
