I've had an inquiry about whether my Android app can interface with a serial device via USB cable.
Before I invest too much time in this path, I'd like to know: Is this even possible? Some previous threads indicate Android won't do host USB. Would it require root access and/or the NDK? Would it be better to advise the potential client to look for a serial bluetooth adapter? I can see that there is a Bluetooth Sock class which may do the job.
