I have had a similar "itch" for Android-app protability, so i have started Dr.i.n.e. project:
http://code.google.com/p/drine/ basically to enable my applications (and those of others) written for Android to be hosted as ajax Web applications or ran as standalone desktop apps on Linux/Windows (_without_ emulator). You can this project out and see how it fits. Mind you, it is in initial stages and the level of Android API support in varies greatly across different areas, though i tried to cover most of Androdi's essentials with Drine, but there's still lots of APIs that simply are not there in Drine. If you'd get suck, check the "Issues" wiki pages of the project for some hints, or drop me an email (it's in project's main page). regards, Aleks.
