Put an option in the spinner labeled "(no selection)" and make it the 
default.

Or, add a checkbox that toggles on-off the spinner, with "no selection" 
being where the spinner is off.

Or, switch to RadioButtons, which support the notion of a RadioGroup 
having nothing selected.
