I use
my_spinner.setOnItemSelectedListener(MyActivity.this);
where
public class MyActivity extends Activity implements
OnItemSelectedListener{
and I get only one call of the function
public void onItemSelected(AdapterView parent, View v, int
position, long id) {
....
