Well, Apache Jakarta Commons HttpClient is bundled with the Android 
runtime, and I've had success using that (on Android and in other 
projects). I don't think there is an FTP client library in Android, 
though I may have glossed over it.

So, the path of least resistance may well be to use HTTP.

However, the bigger question may be: what are the requirements on the 
server side, if any?
