The appIntent and contentIntent intent arguments provided to the
NotificationManager constructor, can only be used to start a Activity. You
can make an Activity with android:theme="android:style/Theme.Dialog", to
make an activity that looks like a dialog. Once that is done, you can use
the various Intent.getXXXExtra()/putXXXExtra() methods to send and receive
data.
