I don't have any suggestions off the top of my head, other than to file 
your "Radiogroup<LinearLayout<RadioButton" issue as a bug or feature 
request. Ideally, RadioGroup searches its whole tree for RadioButtons to 
belong to the group, not just immediate children, which is what I'm 
guessing is happening here.

You could also roll your own radio group logic for the short term. 
Basically, your OnCheckedChangeListener for each button is responsible 
for communicating back to your own non-widget group object, which in 
turn is responsible for updating the other buttons, and not getting into 
an infinite loop in the process. Not the most elegant approach, but it 
may get you by for a while.
