Can you explain what that "backport source code" is? I can see the tag released e.g. in frameworks/base for 7.1.2 <https://android.googlesource.com/platform/frameworks/base/+/refs/tags/android-7.1.2_r38>. It looks like it's finally the source code for all the security patches listed by the Android security bulletins, but never reapplied to previous versions of the AOSP. Is that right?
Particularly, is this the solution to Android Security Bulletins and Updated AOSP versions <https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/android-building/4aukG7rTSoU>? Thanks, Jean-Marie.
