Try updating file utility to a recent version and it should fix the problem

Thanks a lot for the hint! That makes sense.

However, we are on CentOS / Rock Linux 8 and we are stuck with file-5.33.

Would you suggest a way to find updated "file" and "file-libs" RPMs (e.g. in some CentOS 8 3rd party repo)?

Otherwise, would it make sense to build from source? It may require updating of other packages as well:

   package: file-5.33-20.el8.x86_64
      dependency: file-libs = 5.33-20.el8
       provider: file-libs-5.33-20.el8.i686
       provider: file-libs-5.33-20.el8.x86_64
      dependency: libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4)(64bit)
       provider: glibc-2.28-164.el8.x86_64
      dependency: libmagic.so.1()(64bit)
       provider: file-libs-5.33-20.el8.x86_64
      dependency: libz.so.1()(64bit)
       provider: zlib-1.2.11-17.el8.x86_64
      dependency: rtld(GNU_HASH)
       provider: glibc-2.28-164.el8.i686
       provider: glibc-2.28-164.el8.x86_64

What's your (and other people's) advice?

Thanks again,
Nick
