I also had the same sort of problem. My error was : Linking CXX shared module > ../../../../../../lib/amarok_collection-mysqlecollection.so > /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -laio
I am using fedora 17. What i did was as follows:- step 1 > yum search laio i got a list of all laio related elements that can be downloaded. Then I did;- yum install 'laio' and related 'laio-devel' . This process solves the errors most of the times. I think this will solve your problem. Good luck.
