First off mysql 5.5 apparently ignores the MYSQL_HOME, which is disappointing. The branch eean-mysql5.5.9fix addresses this.
I had to run mysql_upgrade before it would work though. mysql_library_init just returned non-zero until I ran it, so I assume that was the problem. mysql_upgrade is generally not packaged with mysql embedded so this might mean a new dependency. Would be nice if we could somehow do it using mysql embedded. Any ideas?
