Hi

I have run a strace.  What I found is that amrecover does so many
forks that I got lost and did not found where is the call for the tape
device or the process that generates the error message.

Because of the real need, I have downgraded the amanda and I am going
to setup another amanda in other server with amanda 3.5.4 and try to
reproduce the bug.
