That's not what that error means. That error comes from dumper while
it is writing to your holding disk. It doesn't have anything to do
with tapes.
My guess is you need to set "chunksize" in your holding disk definition
in amanda.conf. You didn't mention what version of Amanda you're using,
but the default at 2.4.2(p2) is "1 gb" (or "1024 mb").
