Quite why "Usb_midi" takes precedence and loads before snd_usb-audio
has a
chance to get in, I don't know. perhaps someone else would explain
that one.
We have the Alsa-oss module which acts as an emulation layer for any
audio
apps that still need to use OSS, so the OSS audio module is definately
no
longer needed.
What distro are you using?
Maybe some distros don't see the need to blacklist these because they
don't enable them in their kernel.
I'm using Mandriva 2006 with kernel 2.6.12-12mdk.
The 'blacklist' discussion is confusing since this distro is using udev
which (I'm really not postitive at all about this!) deprecates hotplug.
I'm sure there is a 'blacklist' in udev, but too much magic for me to
figure it out.
