I stil am unable to use the mutlichannel possibilities. The following is
my .asoundrc file
pcm.dsp0 {
type dmix
ipc_key 1024 # must be unique!

pcm "hw:0,0" # you cannot use a "plug" device here, darn.

period_size 1024 # must be power of 2

If I try to play sound using alsaplayer I get

NOTE: THIS IS THE NULL PLUGIN. YOU WILL NOT HEAR SOUND!!
But ...
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:.../u19809$ alsaplayer --device "hw:0,0" Snd.mp3
works ...
Please advice ...
