I am just windering if anyone has an idea what I could try next. When in
win98, i get sound, and when I look at the device driver info it shows:
io range=0534-0537
irq=10
dma=1
When I try to load the alsa module with this command, here's what it says:
modprobe snd-cs4231 port=0x534 irq=10 dma1=1
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4231.o: init_module: No such
device
Hint: insmod errors can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO
or IRQ parameters.
You may find more information in syslog or the output from dmesg
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4231.o: insmod
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4231.o failed
/lib/modules/2.4.20-18.9/kernel/sound/isa/cs423x/snd-cs4231.o: insmod snd-cs4231 failed
