There are two hardware revisions of the 8x8 (1.10 and 1.21), and the
loader has to supply a specific firmware for each of them. Now it seems
your device is revision 1.05, and the loader doesn't know about that.

The drivers from Midiman's website don't know about 1.05 either as far as
I have been able to determine.

You could try to edit /etc/hotplug/usb/midisport_fw, replacing "110"
with "105", so that the loader will load the firmware for revision 1.1,
but I cannot guarantee that your device won't blow up. :-)

I guess the device works with your Windows drivers. Please send me your
usb8x8ldr.sys file so that I can update the loader with the correct
firmware.
