I have found the rcenter program that is supposed to make it possible
to use remote control (infrared, for SB live! platinum). It uses
/dev/midi00 for this purpose and while it opens it successfully nothing
is ever read from the device... I also tried different devices
(/dev/midi*) but they do not exist (open fails).
any ideas if it's possible to make it work (with ALSA) and how?
it might be relevant that midi is somewhat suspicious - it acts as if
it works but nothing is ever heard from speakers.
system:
debian unstable, kernel 2.4.18
alsa 0.9
sb live! platinum
