A Low Latency Kernel definetly helps a lot...

I have the same graphics card like Robert Hampf, a Matrox G400, and the
Audiophile soundcard, like Robert configured to use different interrupts. I
don't experience any dropouts though.

Those ID games don't work with the Audiophile here, too. I use a
Soundblaster for Quake2-3, that the only thing I use this #&%$-card for ;)
