I'm not sure what might be going on here...But, in general it is
probably better to use the latest 0.9.0betaXX drivers. The 0.5 series is
not currently under active development. There are some people still
using the old drivers, so you may actually get your question answered.
It's just more likely that if you use the latest 0.9.0 version you will
find other users who have overcome the same problems you're facing.
