This version does not seem to have the 'Save as Office 2007' functionality (I downloaded from openoffice.org and installed all the .deb packages) Trying with Office 2003 will give an error as it happened with OpenOffice 3.2 for any kind of doc (protected or not). Trying with .uos will produce a file but then it won't be able to open it.
