Hey everyone.

I just downloaded and installed VB Audio Cable, and I've read a couple of
documents that explain how virtual audio cables work. I think I'm still a
bit confused though, and was wondering if people here could help set me
straight.

As soon as I installed the programme, it switched my default audio devices,
and I lost speech immediately. Luckily I have a braille display connected,
so was able to reset the audio devices. Now, I have set the output to
virtual audio cable, and changed JAWS and nVDA to run on realtek speakers
high definition audio and not the default sound device. So far so good
right? Now, I have also changed my default sound input to the cable. I'm a
bit unsure what to do next. I've looked at the software control panel and it
seems quite minimalist, with the only options I can find being to set max
latency (which I assume should be as low as possible) and device sampling
rate.

So, how can I pipe output from one programme to another the way it's
supposed to work? Let's say I wanted to broadcast VlC over discord, for
example, or pipe the output from VLC to my web browser. How do I get this
stuff done? What to do after instalation and setup is kind of unclear to me.
Also, in windows sound settings, when I have my output device set to the
cable, I can't hear any sound, unless I set playback to the
speakers/realtek. Is this what I'm supposed to do to hear what I'm actually
broadcasting?

Thanks for any help or guidance.
