Hi. Yes you guys can find it on Neal's site. Just look for ravenswood podcasts. He has them and some of the blind cool tech ones there. Funny he doesn't hav everything he did on blind cool tech on there, but like 3 or 4 of his BCT things are there too. I don't have drop box or I'de do that.

Can you please send me the h6 podcast? I can send you the h2n if you like.
I will appreciate that.

I do have Neal's H6 and H5 podcast. I use to long ago have the H4N 1. As
Rick Harmon took down the Archive of Blind Cool Tech I can't get it no more.
Forget the H4N though. May as well get the new and only $199 or something
H4N Pro instead. The XLRs are the same of the H5. The built in mikes though
are those of the H4N. But I don't recall if you can move them or not. On the
subject of the H2N which again I did long ago have Neal's podcast it is
cool. You're right in a sence it's 4 mikes. I think 1 is 1 of those figure
of 8 ones though cause Zoom clames it has 5 mikes. That this can do 365
surround sound. It did sound kinda geeky. But I never did get 1 though.
Again cause it doesn't speak. At that time I reallly wouldn't have dared try
something with no way of knowing what's what and what's happening.

O yes, I think the h1n is very blind friendly, but since the h2n have
4 mics its maybe more worth it. I am a bit to scaired for the f8
though. But maybe oneday, but in my region its very expensive. Do you
perhaps have the podcast from neel on the h6 and/or h4n?

Ah yeah the F8N. That's the other thing I told myself to convence me to
take the plunge. I said self ya keep claming ya wana use something real
hard core pro like the F8N. Well then time to tighten yo belt buck up
and get started with something that don't speak or play music. Cause the
F8N won't. lol

I haven't bothered with the audio interface bit for the PC yet and I
don't
think I will as I plan to get a Zoom F8N recorder when they finally
arrive
in Australia.
This recorder has a far better Computer Interface than the Zoom H6,
nothing wrong with the Zoom H6's computer interface as is but the F8N
will
allow me to do so much more using its Audio Interface with a computer,
more functions I can use such as Live audio streaming from the recorder
-
the Zoom F8N not only records but sends the recording back to the
computer
so you may stream it to the world live or whatever -, totally
astounding
as to what Zoom have managed to pack into a package for not much more
than
$1100.

Apps for the H6? That's new. But yes you can use it as an audio
interface
for your PC or Mac and an IOS device with the camara kit.

Phantom power I don't use myself.
Keeping track of the folders? I use my computer for that, removing
the
SD card isn't hard and putting the SD card into a Notebook or a Intel
Nuc here here is a snap.
There's also a few Apps for the recorder if you have an IOS device
according to the manual, I'v not done too much research on this yet.

Cool. Yeah I'd set mine to 96 24 also. I just wander things like the
Phantum power. Like does it shut off when you disarm the XLR Chanal
you
were using? or do you have to dive into the menus again to shut off
the
power if you don't need it? How does 1 keep track of the folders?
Especially if this thing creates folders for each recording under
each
of it's own 10 folders.

That's one of the 50 thousand projects I have here to write up a
menu
map and so on for the Zoom H6.
The Menu system isn't complex so it can be done, just a matter of
getting someone with the time because there's heaps of stuff to
note.
I found the manual a good help in finding out most of what I need
to
know, its a huge manual but mainly a good read.
As you can see though the majority of functions are easily set thus
you can start recording straight away.
Other functions I set by default, the sampling rate to
96KHZ/-24-Bit
for example, when you've got a large memory card you may as well
use
the best quality you have at your fingertips.

Well friends, I've gone and done it. I've just called sweet water
sound and got my self a Zoom H6 for my birthday. As you all may
know
the LS-100 of Olympus is no more. But I then figured ah what the
hell
why not. I like the H6 quality. I'm making this harder then it
need
be. This is 2018. One can sympally use AIRA or Be My Eyes when
there's no sighted person arround. So meh let's do this. Any
starting
tips and tricks I should be aware of? I can't get hold of neal for
his cheet sheets and stuff. Thanks.
