Did you also check for CEC? Which is another ARC like thing but in the
case of our TV they seemed to go hand and hand. CEC also needed to be on
for it to work. Another tip once this is all done and you get it all
working, go into the audio settings and make sure you pick bit stream if
you want 5.1 from the TV.

I have checked the manuals and I have looked all over youtube. As for as
asking someone, I thought that's what I was doing. The device is the Yahama
yas107 sound and on this tv the arc port does happen to be 1, but on some tv's
it could be two, like on the Samsung.

Check the manual. Or ask someone. You're correct usually and I " usually HDMI 1
is the ARC port. What device are you using it with? is ARC inabled on this AVR or
what ever you're trying to use it with??

Has anyone tried setting up audio return channel with this tv? I've
tried it but can't seem to get it to work. I keep getting an error
that there is no arc cable connected evin though I have a highspeed
cable connected in hdmi 1 which is where you are supposed to connect it for arc.
