Exactly. And since viewing and interacting with posts is the driver for
revenue there's a disincentive to change anything.

We have got to figure out how to ignore the outer edges of the political
spectrum.

Unfortunately, social (and other) media tends to select and amplify the edges
because it's controversial and controversy encourages views. This tends to
make people feel like the edges represent the majority of each side,
emboldening snd normalizing those with extreme views and creating hate on the
other side of the spectrum.

I think what you're observing is the behavior of noisy zealots of any political

same behavior you're describing.

Whether anyone cares about my opinion or not, I'm very uncomfortable with our
nation's current direction. I used to call myself conservative, but I feel
like conservatives have gone weird. I've been turned off by family and others
on social media calling Democrats and Progressives "sheep" while simultaneously
sharing the memes and repeating the words from their favorite shepherds.

They will never, probably due to the mental deficit required to go left, that
we dont have to like people to support them. Thats all they support, regardless
of policy.
I personally, up till some of the recent shenanigans like the guy and his
policies.

Same reason they dont understand why we are ever in "their space" they dont
have the capacity to comprehend listening to the other side, even if we are
going to roast them. Just look at what they believe about kirk, they never
leave their fishbowl.

The longer I live the more I see how dumb "educated" people are, probably
mostly because they live in an isolated environment.

I knew how it was gonna turn out when Chuck McCown turned up on my suggested
friends list at the book of faces. That cesspool is algorithm heavy to bring
out the best worst in us. Pure troll fertilizer. I love it.

Got told by a guy on a dems against trump site today that I “must be one of
those uneducated people that love trump” that annoy him some much. (For the
record, I think trump is an odious, selfish, narcissistic, meglomanic,
vindictive SOB but I do like many of the things he is doing and many of his
policies. )

I asked the guy to define “uneducated” and he replied back he had a BA in
PolySCI, a JD. Looked at his profile. He never worked as an attorney it
appears and has been a self employed therapist.

I got snarky (hard to believe, I know) and told him that yes, I am a
un-uneducated deplorable but I said that every keystroke he will make typing
his response is made possible by guys like us. We are makers, he is a taker.
We create wealth, he wastes other people’s money. I went on a bit about all
the networks I have built, things I manufacture etc. Told him that I am sure
people like us, the doers and creators do annoy him as we remind him that he
never truly accomplished anything. That he might want to visit his cry room
because that mean man said mean things to him and suggested he might be happier
if he transitions.

Was that bad….?

(I also flexed a bit that I too got accepted into law school but chose to make
money instead. Cause everyone knows that if you can get in you can get out.)
