I'll bite. Howdy everyone, I'm Jay. I'm from Alabama. Otherwise known as the home of the Crimson Tide. Also known as one of the reddest states in the union. oh, and I'm from Cullman County - probably one of the reddest counties in the reddest states. Trump even came here a few years ago.
We live in an echo chamber. Even local "talk radio" is very pro everything Trump is doing. To find any opinion elsewhere you have to seek it out, which I pretty much do. Can't speak it out loud, even my wife would yell at me. I'm happy with DOGE. I wish it had done more to cut government waste. I think we are trying to be more fiscally conservative. I know the "battle" right now over keeping the government open "seems" to be coming from the democrats wanting to restore some funding for Obummercare, which was cut. I see the point. Before my wife's job started providing healthcare for us we were paying over $1700 a month to the marketplace. Not us, YOU ALL were paying $1400 of the $1700 for us. Thanks! But that's my understanding is MOST of that is cut now. And it should be. America is broke. No one seems to take that seriously. I'm right of the age where I'll likely NEVER see any social security (they tell me i'll probably get 77% of my promised payment, yah right) What else. Immigration. Yes, It was out of control. I support most of what is happening, although I can see the other side. It's tough on families being torn apart. Some of the tactics employed aren't the most humane way of doing things. Other notes.... hey, i'm in rural america. As the economy crumbles, it'll hit here later than most everywhere else, but lots of signs show its crumbling. There are lots of people without jobs and without jobs there won't be an income, won't be consumption, won't be able to pay your house payment, etc. In rural america there are less people. 20k in my town. 90k in my county. But we're not even an hour from Huntsville which is growing insanely fast. Lots more competition for what won't exist (except Huntsville is getting space force, so they say jobs will be "exploding" for lack of a better word) Many other issues/topics. I'll post more later.
