yes it's true, tinned wires will work out of a clamp

So I used to tin the wires....then I read a claim that it was
counterproductive because the solder won't expand/contract with
temperature at the same rate as the clamps and it can work itself loose.
IDK, I'm just saying I read that somewhere, doesn't mean it's true fact.

I just tin them

Not sure what problem you need to solve.
If you mean the serial connection between devices those are RJ-11
telephone plugs.
If you've had wires fall out of the green screw down terminals
then I'd suggest some strain relief to prevent any weight from
hanging down on the wire. One way is add a lacing bar or wire
duct so you only have a few inches of unsupported wire going into
the green plug. There are eleventy billion connectors in the
Molex catalog so I'm not going to say there is or isn't a
crimp-on replacement. I'd suggest if you want that then ask
Packetflux support what the part number of the plug is and then
ask the manufacturer if there's something else compatible.

Is there a recommended crimp-on connector that fits the
terminals on the sitemonitor products?
